Just saw that recap. Yeah they are seriously telegraphing a CM Punk loss at a minor-grade ppv, after the man's been champ for 10 months.
Didn't Punk once go on TV and vocally and publicly shit on Vince for constantly leaving money on the table?

Over the years, I've sat through male models and barbers and Japanese machines and plumbers and minotaurs and garbage men and hockey players and magicians and friars and good clowns and evil clowns and midget clowns and vampires and cults and NWA invasions and nWo invasions and ECW invasions and WCW invasions and the McMahon family making themselves the focal point of that should have been the biggest wrestling storylines ever and friars and countless Jannettys and Todd Pettingill and Art Donovan and country singers and a guy named Mister Ass and birdmen and repo men and Mister America and 1-legged wrestlers and big men and little men and tugboats and natural disasters and This Tuesday In Texas and Jeremy Piven and Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Tiny Tim and Ricky Steamboat as an actual fire breathing dragon and Roddy Piper painted half black and possibly gay gold people and the screwjobs (Richter and Hart) and the painful days of early Raw and live sex celebrations and horrible racial stereotypes and Wrestlemania IX and so many other horrible terrible moments that the WWE has given me over the years. Hell, I stuck with WCW to the bitter end. But goddammit, I've had enough. I can't do it anymore. I cannot believe I'm saying this, but TNA is spoiling me. I have come to absolutely love a good 50% of what they're giving me week in week out. Of the remaining 50%, 25% is still enjoyable, and the other 25% isn't terrible. TNA has been consistently good to great since Russo left. WWE, on the other hand? It's a chore. Sitting through the mediocre-to-terrible segments hoping and waiting for something good to happen just shouldn't happen. As a wrestling fan of over 30 of my 38 years, i finally decided that I have better things to do than watch Monday Night Raw. I won't, and probably couldn't, quit cold turkey, but I'm definitely going to be watching less Raw. I'll still come in for the PPVs. But in the end, WWE has pretty much lost a very long-time fan. Ditto. I think I'll go find something else to do.

If Sheamus were just a heel who happened to get cheered, his character would make a lot more sense.

One day we're going to look back at the neverending Alberto del Rio push and wonder, is he in fact Vince's bastard from a long-forgotten romp down South with the boys in the mid-80s? How else could such unwarranted pushing be explained?

There's a jailbait joke in here, so I'll use the Owen voice when I say it.

BREAKING: Jerry Lawler Collapses at Ringside During Raw by Mike Killam September 10, 2012 Share this story
There seems to be a situation unfolding in Montreal during tonight's Monday Night Raw that involves Hall of Famer Jerry "the King" Lawler. There was a moment on commentary where both announcers went silent and Cole removed his headset. He then continued calling the match on his own, as the live crowd began chanting "Jerry, Jerry!" but almost immediately fell silent.
Arda Ocal is reporting that Lawler appears to have been convulsing, and then fell unconscious. He was then taken to the back by legitimate medical staff.
At this point it does not appear that this is a part of a storyline injury, and we hope all is well with the King. More on this story as it develops.

Main Event Radio @maineventradio Vince McMahon and John Cena are with Jerry Lawler backstage. EMT's trying to revive him. #WWE
They are saying heart attack on the twitter. Of course no one is going to mention anything on screen...

And the show will go on as well. A man falling to his death wouldn't stop it, nor would another murdering his own family and then himself, so why should the King of Memphis Wrestling's condition be an exception. I'll stop. I'm coming off like a huge ass. I love the King. He has sucked on commentary but he's awesome. I'll always remember the 90s when he feuded with Bret.

jesus, between the announcement and some of the tweets from people at the show, I don't have high hopes for Jerry.
Tony Marinaro @tonymarinaro
I'm 3rd row ringside. About 25 ft from Jerry The King Lawler. He grabbed his arm & collapsed. Security carried him away. His face was blue.

And this right here is why people hate the Owen voice. Jerry had a real-life emergency and because they fucking do the goddamned Owen voice so goddamned much, people at home are not realizing the gravity of the situation.
Honestly, we could be losing Jerry "The King" Lawler right fucking now.

Jerry in the prime as the King of Memphis Wrestling, kingpin of the USWA and the "Unified" World Champion. There's a pretty cool story with SuperClash III, Lawler winning the AWA and WCWA belts, and all the crazy bullshit that ensued later.

IF (and it's a big IF) this is Jerry shuffling off the mortal coil, at least he went out doing something in the business he loved.
And if Vince is tasteless enough, he'd work this in to give Punk nuclear heel heat as the man who killed the king.
/Can see that happening and it sickens me.
