So we are okay with Devon being in charge of Aces and Eights, correct?

Two stars. Clumsy match with a few hot spots, abrupt finish, and anticlimactic reveal. Devon is a good choice for being in Aces and 8's, but he wasn't so over that it would be impactful. No Abyss appearance didn't help matters.
4-2, here we go! Main event time!

WWE could never ever pull what TNA just did. I think TNA is going to be beating WWE soon in ratings

So we are okay with Devon being in charge of Aces and Eights, correct? Is he in charge, or is he just one of the foot soldiers? EDIT: OK, this board is doing weird things with quote blocks tonight...

Not necessarily, but we're DEFINITELY okay with Devon being the inside man.

That last match SHOULD have been the main event.
At least The packers are doing well..

I wanted to see the A&8's payoff tonight to see if it would shock the hell out of me. And it did.
I'll watch the rest via replay after the NLCS game is over.

I'm okay with him being in it. They did go with a huge work to get him into the stable, with the leaks that he'd left, he was looking to go back to WWE, they stripped the title off him... it is a good angle and a logical move. It's easy for him to explain why he did it. It just doesn't carry a whole lot of weight because Devon has never been this super-over guy as a singles wrestler. If he turns out to be a member, not the leader, it'll work better. As of now though, I don't buy him being the boss of the stable. Matt Morgan actually made more sense in that role.

Smiths, my title is really bugging me. Can you just change it to "Ironheade Heavymetalweight Champ" or something?

Not necessarily, but we're DEFINITELY okay with Devon being the inside man. Yeah. Devon CAN'T be the leader. He's always been second banana.

Dude. Wes Briscoe. Cliff Compton. Luke Gallows. I think Chris Masters is in there too. Now we have Devon. We may still yet get John Morrison. It's gonna be a stable full of guys who never got the "big push" from the "establishment" and are here to take matters into their own hands now. And their leader isn't important, but their financier and inside man are. The inside man was Devon. I'm guessing their "money guy" will be Jarrett or Hogan.

They, of course, swerved us because no one thought D-Von Dudley was important, over or talented enough to be the leader of any major faction. Iam cool with him being a major foot solider too.

They should've done a group reveal, because it's pointless for guys like Wes Briscoe and Luke Gallows to remain mystery men, when they aren't that well known.

thing is, everyone was expecting and waiting for Bully to turn on Sting. The signs were all there. We were all so ready for it that him being the one to be pinned left everyone going, "wait, what?" And then the reveal of Devon? We all knew that he was gone. It made all the rags that he'd been released. Instead of Bully, his former partner was the one who led the attacks. Everything that was done to him was done by his half-brother. like Smiths said, the dead silence in the crowd wasn't indifference, it was genuine shock. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, saw this coming.

Also it will serve to get Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan over with the crowd because even though they're kinda in the same boat as the A&8's guys, they're too full of themselves to roll with those biker clowns. Just you wait, they'll be the next WTTCOTW. Not belt-wise, but role-wise.

Yeah that ending just gets worse the more I think about it. Next Impact better be a huge, Aces and 8's coming out party, because the anonymous angle doesn't work if they a) have access to the Impact Zone now, and b) Devon is unmasked as a big turncoat.

noe of y'all smarks saw it coming and it wasn't even a "shock factor swerve" like Russo would do. This was legit cool. So they swerved us with Devon. They, of course, swerved us because no one thought D-Von Dudley was important, over or talented enough to be the leader of any major faction. SO great. Good for them. Gonna have Eugnen come out and win the world title in the next 5 minutes because we DIDN'T SEE IT COMING?! Pfffft.

Creationist Ape: like Smiths said, the dead silence in the crowd wasn't indifference, it was genuine shock. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, saw this coming. we're all too jaded to objectively observe things. i try really hard and when that hood came off and it was Devon... i went into objective mode. i saw something no one saw coming, something that had been worked really well. I saw the "eric bischoff as the preacher during billy and chuck wedding" segment happening. it wasn't disgust or apathy from the crowd. they were all going "holy shit... i do not know how to react. what does this mean? where does this go? what will happen now?" WWE has not done that to us since.... dare i say.... Punk walking out of MiTB with the belt. yes, it's Devon. We know Devon isn't "mr main event". but this is TNA. They don't seem to force themselves to adhere to the "this guy is main event and no one else will be unless he dies or gets injured". For fuck's fucking sake.. Austin fucking Aries is headlining their biggest PPV of the year right now. is he convuluted right now? yes. is it a little ... fubar'y... in how it's come to this? yes. but it's Austin fucking Aries vs Jeff Hardy main eventing. it's not John Cena and Randy Orton and The Rock and HHH. fuck you all. observe objectively. have 5 drinks and watch. perspectives change They were silent as soon as the music came on fro Aces and Eights and only got going when the good guys did stuff. Then they went silent again.

Jeff just did one of those things I rarely see in WWE these days - scooting into the ring to restart the count.

read my ramble, Senor Subjective. it's not the "russo swerve factor" it's that I can wrap my head around it and go "contract shit... happening during A8s shit. the promise of a match a week being broken... the 'push' not being honored... then the 'remorse' when a deal isn't reached?" fuck it, you'd form a plan to take over your own company too if they were sucking your cock on air but behind the scenes 'letting' your contract expire. they worked you. deal with it. If he isn't the leader, good on TNA. If he IS, fuck this company.
