Of course, the one night I follow through with actually turning off RAW, there is an ending that I really enjoy.

Smiths: I still say aside from King/JR in '99, the best duo they had was Heyman/Ross. Talk about two guys working to one-up eachother and making eachothers' "A Game" be on every night. The best really was Bobby and Gorilla. Heenan was an incredible heel announcer, and he said a lot of things they'd never get away with now. He was even good working with Vince. And Gorilla had both knowledge and the willingness to be the straight man.

LucklessWonder: This was the first RAW in a while that didn't feel like it was actively insulting me. Might be because I missed hour 1. Or it might simply be that Miz/Cole on commentary felt fresh.
Houw One wasn't really bad. The Shaemus/Punk thing was forced because it makes no sense to have anyone but Punk open the show in Chicago. Doing what they did was just too obvious. But other than the fact the "respect" thing comes across as whiny, and that Punk's sudden reluctance to drop the pipebombs in the ring seems cowardly, it wasn't bad until Shaemus opened his mouth again.

LucklessWonder: Why those two models?
/Driving a rented Corolla while his POS 1995 ford Aerostar is getting fixed up.
Punk and I are about the same age (2-3 yrs apart). So basically, back in high school every hardcore and straightedge kid had one of those two vehicles. If not those, then some other late 80s or early 90s GM product, like a Beretta, Corsica or Astro. They were also covered in band stickers.

I liked Gorilla/Brain as a comedy duo (They had the timing down pat) but as a commentary team, I liked Gorilla/Jesse a little more. Jesse had an awesome style, and you can tell JBL borrowed from it when he was on the headset in the mid-00s. I wish JBL would come back, but considering he's worth 9 mil, he has no reason to leave the Bahamas.
