clintster: Ed Becker : Creationist Spotmonkey : Despite his lineage, WesBrisco just hasn't grown on me. Garrett Bischoff, of all people, has. ...and the fourth Horseman just galloped through the parking lot at the radio ranch. Jesus. That's nightmare fuel.

Wait, why did the face win? Shouldn't the entire roster stand at the entrance and watch A&8s demolish Sting? Cause I heard that was good for business.

Smiths: Yesterday at 9:59pm , Ed Becker wrote: So Kenny's a babyface now. Is Aries even a baby face? So many tweeners just being their character. Anderson is still an asshole. Now he's back to being the asshole only for himself. I guess I dunno we'll see next week! Now that I've had some time to drink, let me clarify: Kenny's a defacto baby since he's standing up to Bully. Obviously, we don't know what's gonna happen next week, will he break from A/8's, will there be a swerve, etc. And I guess I was aiming towards TNA having too many "cool heels" IMO. You've got Bad Influence, Roode, AA. That's a pretty good chunk of the upper portion of the card in a roster that's been pared down to what is probably a bare minimum. All those guys are great workers, and I'm a fan of them. And, yes, you need a tweener or two. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the A/8's blowoff will be. I am concerned with TNA's financial/staffing situation. I want them to be successful and deliver for themselves and Viacom. There needs to be somewhere for people to work their craft, but the Carters can only hemorrhage so much money before someone says "fuck it" when the TV deal expires or gets cut short. The MMA guys do nothing for wrestling. It puts a spotlight on it being "fake." And, fuck. I hate the "F" word. But it stretches the suspension of disbelief, and also, most MMA guys are stiffs in the ring. It also cheapens, in this case, Bellator. Why would one follow a fighter in a worked setting and think that the MMA fight is on the up and up? Keep them separate. It kinda reminds me of my involvement in motorsports. I'm a demolition derby guy. Been in it and around it for over 30 years. I love stock car racing. I have an understanding of racing, but my main area of expertise is derby. Many of the racing guys look down on us. I have no desire to drive a stock car. I would also be terrible at inspecting race cars because I'm not hip to how they cheat. My old home track which now has a fucking Menard's on its site ran weekly racing from late April thru late September. They had okay crowds, it was a fun and cheap night out as a fan. But when they had the derby on Memorial Day and Labor Day the place was packed. However, the tech inspection for the derbies was awful. I snuck so many obvious cheats through that it was a running joke. After they sold the track they ran a couple of derbies at WI State Fair park. Guess who they hired to handle inspection and on-track officiating? Yuuup... Me. Drivers looked at me like I had a dick growing out of my forehead when I got underneath cars to check for stuff. They also respected me because I didn't sit there and yell at them. And that I sent over half the cars back for safety shit. Anyways, don't cross-pollinate MMA and pro wrestling. It rarely works. Sometimes it does, like Brock's present run, but he was a worker before he went to UFC. Pretty sure Shamrock was, too. And this rant has probably derailed the train...

Smiths: lotta tweeners with a thin roster i get ya.
When ya think "total Baby" in TNA (in that they are highly active and get to promo or do more than come out when match starts and leave when match ends) i've got...
Kurt Angle, Sting, Samoa Joe, Magnus, James Storm, Silent Gunner, AJ now
I'm looking at this with the available talent and what they bring to the table. I would've gone with Storm before they put him with Gunner. Guy's got great fire, a bit of Austin, a decent worker, decent promo. Gunner's perfect for tag, so I'd say no. Angle's great, but with his issues, age and injuries, I'd say no. Sting's lost a step, he's old and there's the whole thing about not being able to get a title shot. So, no. Joe needs to be an ass kicking badass. He should be just that. He's not the best promo guy, though. To be a compelling babyface you have to be able to verbalize. Joe's one of my favorite guys on the roster but I he's not a traditional baby. He's also about due for another run on top and people dig the shit out of him. Magnus is interesting. Good look. Not the most polished worker or promo guy yet but he's improving. I think he's got a lot of upside. But not quite there yet. Smiths: Rampage and Tito are worthless. makes me wonder if Bellator or Spike is footing the bill for them and not TNA. If they are showing up in TNA for "free" (aka none of Dixie's money), then it's just TV wasting time. Doubtful, but we won't know because LOL PRIVATE COMPANY.
The Torch linked up with an interview with Hulkster yesterday hyping the St. Louis show. It's Hulk, so I take it with a grain of salt, brother, but he mentioned that Spike has their fingers near or in creative. That made me shudder as we all know how that worked out for the old ECW. I understand Viacom is asshole deep in Bellator and they want to cross-promote their investments but some of this shit tastes like drinking orange juice after you brush your teeth. Both are good for you but not with each other and it ends up tasting like ass. Smiths: NHL starts up in less than a month and it's a full season. I'll keep tuning into TNA for a bit but I know my ADD brain will tune out soon enough.
I've been getting into the playoffs lately, learning the game. My problem is that I really don't have a horse in the race with no NHL team here in Milwaukee. Yeah, the Admirals are Nashville's farm club, but I'm not feeling it. I've got friends from Chicago but I feel like such a filthy whorefuckslut cheering for a Chicago team but it might be okay since there's no team here. I'm confused and need more vodak.
