Aren't imaginary numbers just negative numbers? Depends. i 2can be used to multiply a number by negative one, and i can be used to get an impossible number like √-25 out from under the square root sign. √-25 = √25*i = 5i, because i=√-1. But the power of i does a lot to determine how it can be used in an equation. It's a pain in my ass. That's my amateur math lesson for the day, lol.
