These fans wouldn't know a great gimmick when they see one.. Holy shit.. Vince has sterilized them to derp levels. They're so used to being told to cheer for redundant mediocrity.. They don't know how to cheer for original content anymore.

This is something that would have maybe gotten over as an Intercontinental Title feud in the Attitude era (get out of my country vs. mexican everyman) but now it just feels like Vince being Vince. What's next, a gun control gimmick? And this is from a guy who's a flaming liberal and should adore the idea of a really dumb conservative standpoint being mocked by Vince by associating it with a heel. I just can't get behind it yet. Maybe if Swagger hadn't been left in Ziggler and Vickie's dust after having debuted with a character very similar to this one (the All-American American celebration in Oklahoma comes to mind) and then turned into a glorified jobber, I would think "oh this totally new guy is interesting" but instead, it feels like the new gimmick of Swagger is being hot-shotted waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early so that Del Rio can get a big babyface victory and his moment at Mania. Which, if I were booker, I'd rob him of via Ziggler. It'd be spectacular, probably the greatest heel thing that could happen at Wrestlemania other than doing that exact same thing to The Undertaker. sigh...

but is he good or bad fuck guy basically. that's my complaint. obviously i will cheer him, but in matches its' like he's the bad guy who the fans are told to want to lose. Lawler goes out of his way every week to remind us that DBD looks like a goat. At least when Heel Cole was going after DBD, he was clear about his intentions and insults. King is just throwing out random snide comments.
