GEKIDO vs Chikara

GEKIDO were a stable of Chikara Wrestle Factory outcasts who returned to the promotion, injuring Chikara rookies and mainstay/founder/head trainer Mike Quackenbush, along with Fire Ant of the Colony. Quack got his revenge by injuring two GEKIDO members in return. His thirst for vengeance alienated his partner Jigsaw, who turned on Quack in hopes of bringing him to his senses.

Director of Fun Wink Vavasseur decided to book an 8 man tag pitting Quack and the Colony against Jigsaw and the remnants of GEKIDO.

GEKIDO's members: 17 (Retired), combatANT (Retired), deviANT, assailANT, The Shard; the three ANTs make up the Swarm, the anti-Colony.

Wink Vavasseur's Chikaraberametrics:

Wink devised a bogus mathematical draft system, which split up long-established tag teams and put rudos on the same teams as technicos. It's deeply unpopular, and now Chikara wrestlers are openly insulting Wink.

Archibald Peck/Mixed Martial Archie/The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger vs. Mr. Touchdown and Veronica

At Chikarasaurus Rex Archie lost a Loser Leaves Town Match against the Throwbacks, requiring he literally "leave town." For months Archie wandered famous American and Canadian cities before arriving in Dallas, TX. Not long after the Mysterious and Handsome Stranger appeared, and he was dashing, he was handsome and yes, very mysterious. Accompanying him was his pet pigeon, Sapphire.

Mr. Touchdown is an arrogant jock footballer who beat Archie at Chikarasaurus Rex, along with stealing his girlfriend Veronica. Adding insult to injury, Touchdown killed Sapphire, leading to the #ImmortalizeSapphire campaign, which even Jake "The Snake" Roberts joined in support of the Stranger.

Touchdown also won the Young Lions Cup this year. He defends the cup against high flyer ACH at Under the Hood. Will the Stranger intervene?

Delirous/Batiri vs The Spectral Envoy

Several years ago, the Envoy was a different team called the Neo Solar Temple. The leader was Ultramantis Black, and the other members were Crossbones and Delirious. Ultramantis controlled Delirious with an item called the Eye of Tyr. The Eye eventually wound up in the hands of the Brudershaft des Kreuszes, which Delirious (Still under the power of the Eye) joined.

Last year the Eye was destroyed, snapping Delirious out his spell, and he belligerently told Mantis, "I remember everything!" and swore 2 years of vengeance upon Mantis for the two years he was under the influence of the Eye of Tyr.

Delirious recruited the Batiri away from Ultramantis, and turned them against him. At Under the Hood Delirious and the Batiri take on the Spectral Envoy, along with Chikara alumni Crossbones and Blind Rage.

Tim Donst vs Eddie Kingston

This year Tim Donst became deranged and determined, following the disintegration of the BDK. He split from tag partner, Jakob Hammermeier, and chose to go solo. He won Torneo Cibernetico in November, and challenged Grand Champion Eddie Kingston to this match at Under the Hood. Breaking Donst is a 3-part interview on Chikara's Youtube page, and it describes Donst's determination and rage towards Kingston, Chikara and pro wrestling.

Donst and Kingston are two of Chikara's longest tenured wrestlers. Both were trained in the Wrestle Factory and have encountered each other in the past. This is a feud built on the history of Chikara itself.

1502 - Gaving Loudspeaker out, warms up the crowd, and announces the crowd. Mentions the King and Queen homecoming last.

1504 - Intro. Lots of clips going back to Chikarasaurus Rex. A lot of emphasis on the Archie/Touchdown feud, as well as Tim Donst, and the Chikara/Gekido feud. The intro is well done and looks professional. It's steps ahead of ROH, who is owned by a TV company.

1506 - 1st match intro. FIST vs 3.0. Gargano/Taylor out first to a chorus of boos.

1508 - 3.0 comes out to their music. Big pop as they come through the curtain. Match stip is for points for a tag team title shot. Chikara tag teams must earn 3 pts. for a title shot. Each victory for points is 1 point, a loss subtracts all points and the team must start over at 0.

1509 - Chuckie T chant breaks out, countered by 3.0 chant.

1510 - "Chuck's from Cleveland!" chant. Bell rings, match official start.

1511 - Announcers explain tag partner going outside the ring counts as a tag in Chikara tag rules. This encourages the lucha libre atmosphere to Chikara tag matches.

1512 - Sounds like a FIST chant. Chuck Taylor sells his hand being hurt when he punches Parker. Nice touch. Not a lot of guys do that.

1513 - nice double Russian by 3.0. Taylor leg whips Parker (?) off the top turnbuckle. "Chuckie T" chant. Announcers selling Young Bucks as outsider champs who beat ex-champs FIST back at Chikarasaurus.

1514 - FIST do a rope choke spot. These two are very over, especially Taylor, even for being heels (Rudo in Chikara lingo). Taylor stomps a mudhole, Scott Parker with a clothesline from hell. Dropkick to Parker by Gargano.

1516 - "Defense!" chant. Parker in abdominal stretch by Gargano. Flip, Gargano with the hope spot. Waist lock, tag, Taylor's in, bites Parker's hand. Boos all around. Indecipherable chant. FIST still in control.

1517 - Gargano tags in, steps on Parker's foot as he dangles out of the ring. Defense chant resumes. Shuck and jive by FIST. Parker double clotheslines them.

1518 - Matthews tags in, Frankensteiner to Taylor. Matthews keeps control. Crucifix by Parker, elbow drop by Matthews. 2 count, kick out from Gargano. Taylor takes control, gets knocked down, enziguri by Gargano saves him. Taylor lawn darts Parker into the top turnbuckle.

1520 - Ace crusher by Gargano for 2 count. Back and forth, double clothesline by Matthews. Double suplex attempt countered by FIST. Enzigiri and back elbow by FIST, Matthews down, 2 count for FIST. "You can't beat them!" chant.

1521 - FIST going for finisher. Matthews counters, puts Taylor in Boston crab. "Crab!" chant. Taylor broke the hold. Flying knee by Taylor into Matthews. Suicide dive by Gargano to Matthews on the floor. Parker is legal man now.

1522 - Half crab by Taylor on Parker. Shoulder block by Matthews saves Parker. Matthews blocks Hurts Donut. Parker tosses Gargano, Matthews spears him. j

1523 - Pinfall by 3.0! 3 points earned! They will go on to challenge Campeones de Parejas, the Young Bucks.

1525 - Gavin back out, with next match. Singles for one fall. Referee Dan Yost. Icarus vs Dasher Hatfield.

1526 - Icarus through the curtain with Sugar Dunkerton. Dunkerton is a FIST member due to Wink Vavasseur's Chikaraberametrics system. Loud boos for Icarus. No jokes about his tattoos yet. Fans chant for Sugar, he responds, Icarus stops him.

1527 - Out comes Dasher Hatfield to cheers. Icarus attacks him, bell rings, match starts. Icarus has his jacket on, Leonard Chikarason makes the first tattoo joke. "Keep that jacket on, no matter what you do!" by Bryce.

1528 - Back and forth brawling by Hatfield and Icarus. Match on the floor. Count outs in Chikara go to 20, not 10, fyi. Lots of chops and flinging each other into the post. Front flip onto Hatfield. Sugar shielded Dasher and interrupted his offense.

1529 - Commentators rip on Wink for putting Sugar into FIST. Uppercuts by Hatfield, match back into the ring. Near fall by Hatfield. Abdominal stretch by Hatfield. He slaps Icarus' stomach, fans chant "Woo!" each time.

1530 - Dropkick from Icarus, 2 count. Icarus with punches to Hatfield's head. More tattoo jokes by Bryce. Boos from the crowd. Icarus' back piece is AWFUL. Rest hold by Icarus. The crowd showers Icarus with boos, they hate him that much.

1531 - Icarus jumps onto Hatfield's back as he's prone on the middle rope, goes outside. Move slightly botched. Back in the ring, Icarus maintains control. Hatfield flips him onto his back, puts Icarus into a modded figure four. Icarus reverses. Dasher sells the leg as the hold is broken. "Let's go Dasher!" chant.

1533 - Jackhammer by Hatfield, two count. Puts Icarus back in Duke Snyder Special (modded figure four). Breaks hold. Puts Icarus over top rope, Icarus starts punching. Back on top, goes for power slam off the top. Hatfield slips as Icarus grabs the mask. Frog splash by Icarus for two count.

1535 - Hatfield, Icarus trade forearms. Picks Icarus up and drops Icarus on his knee, gut first. Icarus goes outside, camera shows Sugar. Missed baseball slide by Dasher, death valley driver/Bluray by Icarus into the guardrail. Dasher sells it like he's dead.

1536 - Icarus and Sugar argue. Icarus rolls Dasher into the ring. 2 count as Sugar sneaks Dasher's foot on the bottom rope. Icarus is pretty sure he did it. 2 count in the center ring. Icarus takes powder from his fanny pack (Yes he has a fanny pack).

1537 - Yost gets the powder, referee's out. Suicide squeeze by Dasher, goes for a count, audience counts. No official pin. Hatfield goes to revive ref. Icarus goes for loaded fanny pack, Sugar steals it, almost nails Dasher. Sugar shoved into Dasher. Icarus with powerbomb.

1538 - Icarus with the pinfall. Sugar's upset but Icarus is smiling at him. Icarus congratulates Sugar. Sugar pleads with Dasher. Icarus pulls Sugar out of the ring with him and drags him away, preventing him from explaining himself to Dasher.

1543 - 2nd team's music. Fire Ant, Green Ant, Quack, and assailANT. Cheers for Quack and the Colony. Friends vs friends in this one. Big storyline for Chikara this year. Went in places nobody expected it to go. Quack is a heelish face and Jigsaw is a faceish heel. Colony caught in middle.

1544 - Bell rings, Wink's out ringside. Assailant starts with Soldier Ant. Rolling chain wrestling. Assailant tags in Fire Ant, Fire's very reluctant.

1545 - Fire and Soldier square off, very tentative. Straight up chain wrestling. Fire with a near fall. Headlock by Soldier, still very straight up and technical. Colony chant.

1546 - Chain continues. Audience is quiet, not sure who to cheer. Great technical display so far. Fire Ant caught on top turnbuckle, Soldier helps him in. Still very clean wrestling. Handshake.

1547 - Deviant throws Fire Ant out. Green Ant in. Chops Deviant. Dropkick by Fire to Deviant. Splash from top by Green. 2 count. Shard saves. Shard in with forearms to Green Ant. Green Ant with Regal stretch. Deviant and Shard attack Quack as he comes in.

1549 - Back breaker by Quack on Shard. All guys in the ring, Chikara tosses out rudo team. Action to the floor. Colony/Quack suicide dive to the floor, take out Swarm/Jig/Shard. Jigshaw adjusts his mask on the floor and is caught on camera doing it.

1550 - Jigsaw and Fire Ant in the ring. Jigsaw distracts Fire Ant, kicks Fire Ant in his injured leg. Jigsaw punching Fire Ant in the corner, crowd booing the crap out of Jigsaw. Shard comes in, takes over, Soldier Ant pulls Jig away.

1551 - Shard and Fire Ant. Deviant in now. Each take turns going for the leg. Deviant has Fire Ant on the ground, they go up, kick by Deviant. Jigsaw back in, screams, "You're making me do this, man!" to Quack after a snapmare to Fire Ant. Jigsaw works Fire's leg on the bottom rope. Lots of boos for Jigsaw.

1552 - Stomps to Fire Ant by Jigsaw. Fire Ant chant. Soldier in, tries to give Fire Ant a break; now Jigsaw, goes back to working Fire Ant's leg in the corner. Leonard Chikarason is flustered.

1554 - Trading chops between Jig and Fire Ant. Jigsaw gets momentum, chops Fire on the ropes. Shard in, takes Fire Ant down. Elbows by Shard. Shard is easily the best wrestler in Gekido. Works Fire Ant's leg, puts it in leg lock. Fire Ant chant resumes.

1555 - Shard drags Fire Ant away to cut off the hope spot. Very strong showing by Jig's team so far. Jig's in, brain buster to Fire Ant, he dedicated it to Quack. Jigsaw mouths off to Quack, he threatens to do to Fire Ant what Quack did to 17, but Fire Ant counters.

1556 - Michinoku driver by Green Ant, goes for pin, Deviant makes the save. Fire and Green team up with Assailant and triple-dropkick Deviant. Bryce puts over Soldier Ant feeling left out, the Colony goes for the Ant Hill, but Jigsaw pushes it apart.

1557 - Soldier Ant conflicted, gets put in DVD by Assailant. Deviant comes in, turns on Assailant with vicious kicks. Shard drops Fire Ant on his back.

1558 - German suplex by Jigsaw onto Green Ant. Quack in, tries to get Jig, Jig gets him. Suplex and Quack's down.

1559 - Soldier Ant pushes off (missed it), Green/Fire/Assailant do the Ant Hill to Jigsaw. Huge change there, Assailant's never done the move with them until now. All wrestlers laid out, ref John Barber counts down.

1600 - Jigsaw queuing up super kick on Quack. Assailant saves, and crowd chants for him. Deviant pulls Quack out, Shard upset over Assailant. Shard up top, double stomp onto Assailant.

1601 - 2 count, Quack saves Assailant. Double turn in progress. Deviant gets the pin though. Match over, Shard/Deviant/Jigsaw/Soldier Ant wins. Assailant chant ensues. Quack and Colony help him up. Quack helps him out, pats him on the back. Soldier Ant chant. Soldier Ant stays outside the ring.

1605 - Next match, Mr. Touchdown comes out with the YLC. "JV Football" chants.

1606- ACH's music plays. Young Lions Cup defense up now. ACH has good music. This is a rematch from their encounter during the YLC 2012 series, which Touchdown won and went on to claim the cup. ACH flips into the ring, huge pop, followed by chant.

1608 - Bell rings. ACH chases Touchdown into the corner, rope break. Veronica's ringside wearing a homecoming dress. Headlock by ACH, takes down Touchdown. Touchdown taunts crowd with his "It's good!" hand signal.

1610 - Tie up, full nelson on Touchdown. ACH chant. Back to the mat, headlock. Slow, mostly mat wrestling so far. ACH down, Touchdown taunts again. Touchdown challenges ACH to a rope tackle or something, ACH tricks him, takes him down. Arm drags by ACH, Touchdown leaves ring, goes to Veronica.

1612 - Barber continues count out as Touchdown returns to apron. Dropkick by ACH sends Touchdown to the floor again. ACH backflips off ropes, misses, but lands on his feet on the floor. Touchdown flips ACH over guardrail, comes back over, Touchdown catches him, blocks the Frankensteiner, tosses ACH into the guardrail.

1613 - Touchdown in control. Taunting crowd with jumping jacks.


1614 - Body slam by Touchdown, keeps pace slow. Announcers talk about Touchdown's background with Throwbacks, beating up Archie, turning Veronica, winning Young Lions.

1615 - ACH keeps Touchdown in the corner, misses with baseball slide, Touchdown slides, ACH back up, enziguri by ACH to Touchdown on apron. Both flip to the floor. Touchdown gets the worst of it. ACH chant back.

1616 - Chops to Touchdown. Back into ring, ACH going up top. Misses, lands on feet again. Tackled by Touchdown. 2 count. Front face lock by Touchdown. Suplex, knee drop with exposed knee cap. 2 count again.

1617 - Forearm to ACH's lumbar. Touchdown pulling on ACH's face. Facelock continues, both roll around mat. Body vise and chin lock on ACH by Touchdown. Barber checking ACH's arm, 2 arm drops. ACH revives on third one. ACH gets back up, breaks hold, Irish whip, back elbow by ACH onto Touchdown.

1622 - Both guys dazed, "This is awesome!" chant. Barber counts both men down. Both up, to the corner, Touchdown lifted to the top. Touchdown punching out of it. Fighting ACH off him. High risk move by ACH. Touchdown dazed, ACH goes up top. ACH flips Touchdown over, cover, two count! Audience is chanting ACH again.

1623 - ACH going back up. Splash blocked. Touchdown goes for it, gets two count. Frustrated, Touchdown motions to Veronica. Touchdown w/ the baton. Touchdown shoves ref down.

1624 - Touchdown, with Veronica holding baton as he sits on ACH, gets the dirty pin. Winner is Touchdown as he retains the YLC.

1625 - Veronica kisses Touchdown, he celebrates w/ the cup. Veronica taunts crowd. Gavin asks for applause for ACH.

1626 - Homecoming starts. Time to announce the King and Queen. Dan Yost with the crown, scepter and sash.

1627 - Veronica announced Homecoming Queen. Yost gives her the tiara, sash, and bouquet. Boos for Veronica.

1628 - Touchdown grabs mike, taunts crowd. Arrogantly proclaims he'll be crowned King. Gavin contradicts and says someone else has won.

1629 - The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger's music plays, as Gavin announces him Chikara's Homecoming King. The Stranger is out looking determined. He attacks Mr. Touchdown.

1630 - Touchdown shoulder blocks Stranger, Stranger clotheslines him to the outside. Veronica looking dejected. Sapphire chant. Fan says, "You're so amazing and I have no idea who you are!" "We don't know you!" chant. Veronica alone in ring with Stranger.

1631 - Indecipherable chant as Veronica and Stranger face each other. Slow dance music plays on PA, the king and queen start their homecoming dance. Veronica goes in for kiss, then tries to take off the mask.

1632 - Stranger has Veronica cover her eyes. Stranger goes outside, brings in pig slop bucket. He dumps the slop onto Veronica! She's horrified and the audience pops huge. Off comes the mask! Archibald Peck is back! Archie chant ensues! Commentators sell the crap out of it! Security removes Peck from the ring (Per the "Loser Leaves Town" stip from Chikarasaurus). Archie gets his revenge on Veronica. Touchdown is back in the ring, enraged.

1634 - "You got dumped!" chant for Veronica. Touchdown won't console her. He orders her out of the ring and is abusive to her. Veronica leaves the ring, Touchdown follows with his cup. "Don't forget your crown!" he shouts after her.

Intermission. Recaps for Tim Donst (Dissecting Donst) and Delirious. Delirious is Hunter Johnson, head booker for Ring of Honor. ROH and Chikara have shared talent this past year. 1653 - Out comes Los Ice Creams. Bakavala introduces himself in Spanish to them.

1654 - Devastation Corporation enters. They're kind of like a Demolition parody. They have 3 members. McMaster and Smashmaster are the two main members. The guys

1655 - Bell rings, Devastation Corp no-sells like old school Road Warriors. "No me gusta" chant as the DC dominates. Power moves, Blaster McMaster tosses Ice Cream Jr. Lots of plodding, slow power moves, Smashmaster comes off the top rope, hits their combo finisher (Like a Doomsday Device) and gets the win.

If I had to guess, I think Smashmaster is formerly the masked Viking Tursas. I've never seen McMaster before though.

1659 - Delrious is out first, alone. He's wearing a robe with the Bariti's symbol on it. Obariyon, Kodama and Kobald are the members.

1701 - Stream is back, just in time for Spectral Envoy's entrance. All are in matching black and orange. Crossbones is back for this match. He's been away from Chikara for a long time. Blind Rage is another old Chikara alum who hasn't been in the promotion for a while. "Welcome back" chants for Crossbones and Rage.

1703 - Pull apart brawl and the bell. Gavin Loudspeaker joins Chikarason on commentary. All wrestlers on the floor now, beating on each other. Delirious and Crossbones in the ring. Kobald has a new mask with huge, blue ears. Ophidian debuted a new, green/blue/black mask to match the Batiri colors. Delirious still has his robe on.

1705 - Mantis in, Kodama stops him from getting to Delirious. Double hook suplex by Mantis. Follows with a DDT. 2 count for Mantis. More fighting on the floor. Kodama with neckbreaker on Mantis from the corner.

1706 - Kobald and Hallowicked in the ring. Hallow with the flip off the top onto Kobald.

1707 - Kobald's forearm right into Hallow's jaw. Blind Rage and Ophidian in the ring. Chikarason explains Rage's history in Chikara. Ophidian with the mist in Rage's face. Frightmare with Frankesteiner to Ophidian.

1709 - Delirious tagged in, goes after Frightmare's leg. Tags in Kobald, Ophidian also in. Kobald also targets Frightmare's knee.

1710 - Kobald up top, Envoy chant, more tornado action as more members come in. Delirious body slams Mantis. Chops to Mantis. Now an armbar. All teammates put their boots up, Delirious slams Mantis' head into them. Ophidian tags in.

1711 - Chorus of boos for Ophidian. Near fall for Ophidian. Body slam, tags in Kodama, more commotion, suplex by Obaryion to Mantis.

1713 - Flurry of punches by Mantis, Ophidian goes back in. Slam, Ophidian hisses at crowd. Kobald in, shoulder block to Mantis in corner. Cannonball by Kobald, Ophidian double knees Mantis in the chest.

1714 - AMASIS RETURNS! HE'S IN THE CROWD! He was betrayed by Ophidian a year ago, the crowd chants like crazy. He has a new mask. Fans were wearing his mask earlier, commenators obliquely mentioned it. Ophidian's freaked.

1715 - Mantis regaining control. Suplex by Ophidian. Hope spot time. Mantis tags in Hallowicked. Frightmare now legal man. Flies outside, Blind Rage attacks Ophidian in the ring. Lots of punches to Ophidian. Spectral Envoy chant.

1716 - Crossbones in, boot to Ophidian's face. Legdrop for 2 by Crossbones. Obaryion in and punching Crossbones, STO by Crossbones. Back and forth between Crossbones and Obariyon. Knee to Crossbones' face. Crossbones to the floor, Blind Rage back in, attacks Obariyon. Reverse suplex by Rage, does a reverse Three Amigos. Cover for two. Kobald breaks it.

1718 - Kobald suplexes Rage. Frightmare in, I don't know what the hell he just did, gets a two count. Ophidian does the Egyptian Destroyer flip piledriver on Frightmare. Hallow in, takes down Ophidian. Delirious targets his knee.

1733 - Waltman not getting X-Pac heat. 1-2-3 chants awaiting Jannetty and his arrival. Kid has a gut. Jannetty looks like he's still in the AWA.

1734 - Competitors pose w/ Wink and Bryce. Kid grabs belt, crowd cheers. Jannetty does the same. Boos for the champs. Jannetty chant.

1735 - Jannetty checks Bryce, then the bell at 1736. Match starts.

1736 - Jannetty and Matt Jackson start. Jannetty's wearing a vintage Rockers t-shirt. Marty chant as he and Jackson fake each other out. Armbar on Matt. 1806 - Challenger Tim Donst's entrance. He's with Jakob Hammermeier, but doesn't look pleased by his presence. Donst is still shaved from losing the Hair vs Mask match at Chikarasaurus Rex in June. "Next World Champ" chants for Donst.

1807 - Kingston's music hits. Kingston charges in, stomps the prone Donst in the corner. Ref and Wink separate the pair. Kingston demands Gavin speed up the intro. Gavin reads off Donst's accomplishments. Kingston again tells Gavin to hurry up. Mixed boos and cheers for Kingston. Eddie chant follows. Someone tosses Eddie a FC scarf. He poses with it. He taunts Donst, "Get in the ring! Get in the ring!"

1810 - Bell and match start. 8th title defense for Kingston. Both go straight for the outside. Chops to Donst right at the commentation station. Donst into the guardrail. Light kicks by Kingston, taunting Donst. Headbutt by Kingston near the ramp. Kingston circles the outside. Punches to Donst's face. Kingston toys with Donst as he jaws with the crowd.

1828 - Donst nails Kingston w/ the bag, Jakob tries to revive Bryce. 1....2.....Kingston kicks out.

1829 - Donst goes after Jakob. He grabs him, yells at him and throws him to the floor. Small package by Eddie, 2 count. Backfist the Future. 3 count.

1830 - Eddie Kingston retains with a pinfall.

1832 - Leonard Chikarason thanks the fans for season 11, sets up season 12 for 2013. Kingston raises the belt, signals the crowd, and departs. End of show.

Excellent show. Seriously, everybody should be watching this. I do think Chikarasaurus Rex was better, but this was a damn fine show too.
