LucklessWonder: Okay, Sam Keith is way better than Sandman let him look. Still a good comic despite the art. I think Lucifer might actually be traced off of 70s Bowie pictures. Sam Kieth is the man. The art ebbs and flows in the Sandman, and the styles vary drastically between story arcs. It gets better. I woulds not be surprised at all to find the Lucifer drawings (at least in this story) are based on DB. I don't know if you are a Tori Amos fan or not, but she pops up in various guises many times. She and Gaiman are good friends.

According to Wikipedia Gaiman insisted to the artists that Lucifer was to look like David Bowie and that if he didn't, they would have to do it again until he did. I daresay tracing would be the most expedient way to achieve pure likeness. :-)
