Random thought. I'm reading Neil Gaiman's The Sandman for the first time, just finished all of Preludes & Nocturnes. Holy shit can the man write, but why did they pair it with such horrible art/coloring?

The art for the first story arc would have been so much better if they has let Sam Kieth ink and color his own art. They had someone else ink it and the inker destroyed it. When Sam Kieth inks Sam Kieth the results are phenomenal. (Think the Maxx and Zero Girl)

Not too family with Sam Keith as an artist, so not sure if it's inking on pencils, but the coloring, holy shit the coloring.
And 90s wasn't all bad art, just 97%

Okay, Sam Keith is way better than Sandman let him look. Still a good comic despite the art. I think Lucifer might actually be traced off of 70s Bowie pictures.
