Perhaps youse heard about the dick-hole that shot up the spa in Brookfield, WI. JSonline.com is your friend for details. I, however, got a call in the early afternoon from a fellow jock. She had voicetracked (pre-recorded) the Noon to 4pm shift on Friday. I was scheduled to start at 4pm. Obviously, she had no idea that some fuckstain would go and shoot up a local business when she did her deal.
So anyways, I get a call from her while I'm waking up, listening to the Packers game on the air on WTMJ (the Packers flagship, not one of our stations.) She's over an hour away, I'm 15 minutes away. I put on pants, wash my face and get to the station. We go totally local when shit like this happens. It happened when the kid got killed a few years ago outside of Summerfest and then in August for the Sikh Temple shooting. Holy Christ... A classic rock radio station covering news live.
What I did was I monitored local news, including WISN-12 which was linked at the mainland. That TV station is also a partner with us. My cop friends texted me stuff which was mostly confirmed by TV. I went and gathered news and reported what was confirmed. Fuck. I go in early, do hard news. Oh shit... I should put something on the station FB page. Or maybe not so much. Stupid dead people that I don't want to report on. I should be talking about Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" and how you can't dance to it. (Go ahead and try) That or poop jokes.
I put on serious voice. Didn't see or hear shit on the Packers. Or the rest of the games. Another WI WIN has Matt Kenseth winning in Kansas. No, I was tracking the story of the asshole shooter and reporting the story and what roads were blocked off.
I'm sick over the shit that happened. Yay! Milwaukee! You'll die! Yay! Fuck that. I can't even get properly drunk and I have the keys to the bar.
Maybe I'm old. I never want to report on deaths. That sucks all forms of ass. I was so happy to go outside and smoke. And then think about who got shot up.
/kinda drizunk
