9 matches
2 2.5 10 3 2.5 3 9 2 8
Total of 42 minutes bell-to-bell
show time 190 minutes
22% of the show dedicated to in-ring action
23.6% if you add the 3 minutes of Punk murdering Lawler

That's almost as creepy as the time I made my first Arquette belt in a TNA thread and had more than 3 pictures of David Arquette.

Just for reference, here is that belt Yes, I gave some kind of shit about TNA threads when that was all we could come up with for our LARPing. /although I probably was being a dick towards TNA, I at least watched it and eventually was rewarded with superior wrestling

lurch_E_bean: I think I've heard the crowd give zero shits since I started watching this.
I really wonder how live show ticket sales are being affected by how shitty these shows have been for the last few months. There comes a point where people have to say enough. People buy these tickets months in advance, meaning if the sustained shit cycle continues like it has these past few months, we should see it hit the fan fairly soon. It's all a bit depressing, isn't it? They really have turned into WCW... They have "the main eventers" and "everyone else", their writing has gone to complete crap, everything is nonsensical due to outside interests meddling... and unlike WCW, they don't even have a bunch of luchadors running around to distract us from the ugly truth. It's sad. It's really, really sad. All they need to do is re-hire Russo, and the cycle will be complete.

like I said, 22% of the show dedicated to in-ring action. It's gone down every week since they went to 3 hours. If it were still a 2 hour show, 42 minutes would be the very bottom of acceptable. For a 3 hour show, it's inexcusable. WCW, for all their faults toward the end, still had a lot of matches. They may not have been good, but they were there.

How much is dedicated to ticket holders? How much is given to "OFF-AIR" antics? It's one thing to do the math on this show, but how much the ticket holder is receiving. I use TimeWarner cable WITH DVR. I always make sure I get my money's worth. What about in ring promos? Any mic time with Cm Punk is worth it at this point. The breakdown of actual wrasslin' is kinda bullshit. Yes, TnA is much better with in-ring action. But how much is actually exciting? For "that guy" who likes to go by the numbers..yes..not much "wrasslin" time. Also tag team champs have had more singles matches than actual tag matches. TRu-fi has actually gone past 30 days without defending penny belts before. Just sayin' Maybe count the plot holes next time, goof.

pmoneyallstar: Does the "wrasslin" time exclude intros?
It's usually measured bell to bell, so yes. pmoneyallstar: How much is dedicated to ticket holders?I don't know where you're going with this so I'll say none. It's all for TV. When you go to see Raw live, you're a member of the "live studio audience." Helluva gimmick. Vince gets people to pay to watch his TV show live. They've gotten a lot better at pacing things since the last time I was at Raw. pmoneyallstar: How much is given to "OFF-AIR" antics? It's one thing to do the math on this show, but how much the ticket holder is receiving. The ticket holder gets a half hour of whatever before the show. Read my thread for a rundown. They also get a throwaway main. It's the same as Bruce Dickenson screaming "Scream for me, Long Beach!" Or Chicago. Or Des Moines. Or Alpine Valley. WWE is not here to provide superior wrestling. They're here to turn a buck. Selling tickets and partnering up and getting paid for providing content with NBC/Universal is their game. The people that were in the Bradley Center Monday night were not there to see professional wrestling. They were there to see WWE. WWE is the professional wrestling version of Kraft Singles.

Yes, TnA is much better with in-ring action. But how much is actually exciting? Considering that TNA has figured out how to build a midcard story and how to elevate people, far more than what we see in WWE.

From a longtime, pretty casual fans perspective:
I have endured some painful RAW's in the past but even I couldn't get through last night completely. Yikes. The women's division is a joke. They have actual talented females but every match just seems so bland and awkward. Future endeavoring Kharma was a terrible move. What happened to building Tamina? Poor Natty as well, you're better than this. Sad sad sad, but at least it's not Yelly Kelly taking time out of her job staring at the sun to scream at everything.
I see Thwags is still jobbing his way out of the company. I'm trying to see the potential in Ryberg but that match with Thwags was just... really clumsy to watch. I don't know if it's due to Ryback still learning or Swagger not giving a fuck anymore. It just came off as sloppy on TV and it made both of them look bad. Oh well, mission accomplished. Ryberg gets fed and Swags continues his way down the roster and toward the exit. Say hi to JoMo for us, Swag-man!
Was there really a need to job Miz to Super Cena? Everyone knew that was a no win for Miz and it was a weird, random throw away. They could've put anyone against Cena, so why make Miz look weak when he's holding a title? I don't get it. That match accomplished nothing, no storyline was furthered and Miz looks like a puss of an IC champ. They took Cody off the pursuit of HIS IC title to try and get a mask off a Mexican. Well, alright then. So no one is interested in the IC Title anymore now that Miz has it I guess.
I do like where they're headed pairing Rhodes and Sandow. I'm a mark for Sandow, I can't help it. It makes sense to pair him with the more intellectual heels. I have to agree watching Botch Cara dancing with the kids was awkward but I see where they're going. The kids like the Funkasaurus so Cara gets a little of that face rub, for lack of a better word, since he doesn't seem extremely over and Trips can't have his pet project fail. Sandow equally gets a little bit of heat with Cody. For the first time watching all night, I feel like something finally made sense. Vince must've been asleep at the wheel. Sandow needs better trunks once he picks up a little more popularity. I don't mind the pink and purple as it's amusing, but they need a design of some sort to stand out more and not look so generic, similar to the evolution of Rybacks & Clays tights getting more detailed.
Every time DBD flips his shit and gets in the fans/plants face and screams NO! NO! NOOO! I can't help but crack a smile. It amuses me. Very much so. I can see it wearing thin soon enough but for now I find it funny as shit. DBD plays good crazy, I can't deny him that. I'm just a little worried that his character won't keep evolving past this point.
God, the Triple H ego wankfest was just out of control. They don't need to recap that shit after every break. Seriously. Amount of fucks given: notta one. In fact, I care less every time there's yet another mention of Triple H and start to actively hate the guy. It's hard to forget ya Trips when you're face/name are on my tv every ten goddamn seconds. Go away already you egotistical prick.
I gotta admit, I did laugh at the Kane in group bit, trying to run down his past in Dr. Evil style. The Katie Vick mention was kinda surprising but a nice shout out to the old fans (still not as funny as Hand Baby guy at Raw1000). I have to wonder where they're going with this angle, though. I know WWE still has interest in getting Charlie Sheen on board in some capacity and I'm guessing that's what they're setting up here, using Kane as a kind of safety net if they can't hammer out a deal with Sheen.
Glad to see Ziggles clawing his way to the main event. Guy is just too talented for the midcard and I always enjoy watching his work. The MITB briefcase gimmick is running its due course here, mostly costing him matches but with any luck eventually nature will take its course and he'll cash it in successfully. Hoping Orton doesn't Orton all over the WHC scene. I don't care much for Del Rio's character but I like his work. Ricardo however, is always awesome.
Nice to see Ryder get a friggin' WIN on TV for a damn change. Otunga just sucks. I just don't like him at all and apparently Kane feels kinda the same. But hey, he's Harvard educated, would make sense to bring Sandow into that picture as well and try to get the brainy heels on some kind of common ground. Would enjoy seeing a large stable again since the Tag division is just in the crapper. Dunno why the 'E is trying to push everyone as a single, but takes Kofi and Truth and makes them a tag team. They have enough tag teams that are ready and legit. The Uso's and Primo/Epico/Rosa's ass. Not quite sold on the Prime Time Players yet, but I can see a little improvement with them every week at least. Too bad A.W. got himself future endeavored.
Seriously, this is how we're getting our Punk heel turn? Picking on the King? Good ol' JR should be thankful he's not around then, I suppose. After seeing the HIAC poster I guess WWE really is just rehashing the ROH Punk "The Devil" storyline. Conspicuously absent on that poster though was the WWE strap with Punk, so I suppose Cena goes over at NOC in his hometown. Wasn't the Rock supposed to be at NOC too or am I not remembering that correctly? Maybe it was whoever won at NOC would face the Rock. I can't remember at the moment. Hard to care when ol' Rocky just shows up and leaves randomly every few months.
Anyone seen Wade Barrett? Isn't he due back by now? I miss him saying bah-roj.
I always enjoy reading the MNR threads and it feels good to see everyone going WTF at the same shit I do. I never got a chance to really participate at that other site so it's nice to finally get my opinions out. Now back to my regularly scheduled lurking! Take care, everyone.

Actually that raises a good question... in our stupid opinions... what was the "worst" of the Claire Lynch angle?
I still say it was the first day they introduced her and she did her "speech" in the ring with Dixie and AJ there.
That was the most painful it ever was. So in a way, at least it was a decline in pain every week since that for me.
DO THE RIGHT THING AJ

That's legit. NO ONE blades that high up. Most blading is done on the forehead, which is why old wrestlers have so much scar tissue on their foreheads. I saw worse when my bro got his head split using a golf club.
