I was supposed to make a thread, but I've had a ton of real-life crap to deal with today that has kept me away from the computer and I won't be able to watch the show until later.
Oh well...

Christ, just let fucking JR and Regal do the fucking commentary. We don't need rotating commentators with Cole all night.

okay Smackdown was very skippable this week. The only really important things that happened: Orton reminded everyone that his name is Randy Orton, and when you keep getting suspended it's understandable that you would have to reintroduce yourself to the audience, even though a huge portion of them are holding signs with your initials and wearing your Ed Hardy-esque t-shirts. He says he wants to beat up the guy who came up with the glass half full/half empty idea and that he thrives on confrontation. Hm, I always had Orton painted as a nihilist. Anyway, he says he beat Del Rio fair and square, and if anyone has a problem with him being No. 1 contender, come tell him. Sheamus comes out, cracks a joke about he also beat Del Rio fair and square at Summerslam and that Orton should be No. 1 contenter. Booker T comes out because the talking up to this point has been far too intelligible and slow-paced. He's about to say something important, and Del Rio comes out sans car, sans music, but with Ricardo.
It's worth pointing out that at this point, they had Sheamus and Randy Fucking Psycho Predator Viper Killer Bagshitter Druggie Orton standing RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER like a fucking tag team and the two of them are talking about how they want to FIGHT EACH OTHER. Add in the fact that they both had a T-shirt and no pants on, and it almost came across as downright homoerotic. I mean, it has nothing on the Hogan Sex Growl and Horny Sting from Impact but it was really weird and mostly unexplainable. I guess the guys in suits need more room for their glowing suit auras, so Ricardo, Booker and Del Rio were taking up most of the ring space throughout.
Del Rio says Shaymoose is a creemeenall and a cheater, that Orton is a crazy animal (which Orton says "yup" to off-mic and grins) and that Booker T is stupid. He repeatedly interrupts anyone trying to get him to calm down, and eventually goes all R-Truth on them and says EETZA CONZPEERACY and that Booker, Orton, Shaymoose and the entire WWE Universe is against him. Booker finally gets to tell Del Rio he was the No. 1 contender, but that now that Del Rio has had the audacity to air his grievances on a microphone (WHICH NEVER HAPPENS IN THIS BEEIZNESS) he will now have to beat Randy Orton to face Sheamus again.
This makes no fucking sense. The guy got cheated in such a way that the entire crowd knows he should get a rematch, because they know that if John Cena or Orton or whoever else had a foot on the rope and the ref counted 3, the match would get restarted or they'd do a rematch. It's just how it works. Now, it would have made sense if Booker (or the Michael Shut The Fuck Up Cole who spends more time talking about things completely unrelated to the segment being presented as he does ANYTHING else) mentioned that Del Rio's deceptive attack on Sheamus before Summerslam was still in everyone's mind, because then it would actually be in everyone's mind since nobody even likes this storyline. Instead, it was because Del Rio "ran his mouth" about getting screwed at Summerslam that gets him punished. Booker T: Dick.
Ziggler and Sheamus had a back-and-forth backstage, with Sheamus daring him to cash in tonight. Ziggler scoffed and said he would cash in on his own terms, and that IF Sheamus was still WHC when he cashes in, that Sheamus will never see it coming. Teddy Long just happens to be in earshot (which is funny because Sheamus just happened to be in earshot, leading one to believe that Vickie and Ziggles are totally inept when it comes to finding a place for a private conversation) and makes a non-title, non-briefcase match between the two. It was a very even bout for the most part, Sheamus began to control on offense and Ziggler gets the briefcase from Vickie and blasts Sheamus with it multiple times. He teases cashing in, but Sheamus gets back to his feet and Ziggler quickly snatches the briefcase from the ref before the match starts.
So all that crap with Del Rio? Ultimately it meant nothing because he beat Orton clean with the Cross Arm Breaker. Really fucking solid match between the two - it makes Del Rio's work with Sheamus look even worse though, and makes me question whether Sheamus was the reason. Afterward, Del Rio and Ricardo beat the crap out of Sheamus, including a big kick to the head that had him woozy and finally ending with a big swinging strike of the heel of Ricardo's left tapdancing shoe to the back of Sheamus' head. Sheamus is out, and Ziggler comes down and gets the ref into the ring, is about to cash in, aaaaand Randy Orton RKO's him to prevent Ziggler from getting any heat whatsoever in this episode.
Del Rio vs. Sheamus and Ziggler vs. Orton at Night of Champions for the undercard of Cena/Punk. Okay, I guess. I think in this case, a triple threat would have actually been logical AND fun to watch, unlike almost every other triple threat PPV match this year, and would have given an opportunity to get the belt off Sheamus and onto Ziggler.
Stupid crap that happened: Eve Torres making absolutely no sense, the guest commentary crap, Michael Cole literally spending the entire Ryback match talking about something that had absolutely nothing to do with what was happening in the ring AND being an insufferable tooly heel to Teddy Long (the guest commentator for the match). Ryback pretty much squashed Jinder Mahal, ending that feud unceremoniously. There was a match with the tag champs against Joe and Brony with The AW-Less Players as guest insufferable douchebags. There was some backstage segment where the champs, PTP, and a whole bunch of jobber teams were all beating each other up because OMG TAG TEAMS MATTER NOW GUYS. So forced.
Ah well. See you all on Monday.

Verbaltoxin/Lingualvenom: This shows right here how much anyone cares about Smackdown.
The big problems with watching "Smackdown" are that they tape the show on Tuesdays, so by Wednesday morning, we all know what the basic results are. The other big problem is that the show usually airs on a Friday night. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I generally get paid on Friday morning. This means that when I get off work on Friday, I need to go tank up the car, buy groceries, cook dinner (or go out for dinner) and I don't often get a chance to watch it... and I do not see WWE programming these days as "destination viewing".
