What I don't like is they seem to have abandoned Roode vs Storm at BFG, when for months that's all we were sure they were heading. Now it's Aces and Eights business and they're teasing Storm as a heel and making Roode look like he's being unjustly ignored.

Oh, but that's making for a nice slow build - Roode now feels that his warnings of James Storm are being ignored, so he's pissed. Storm is now going to do a slow burn about Roode fingering him as the leader of Aces and Eights. Storm may even feel that Roode has set him up and Roode is behind Aces and Eights. Watch this one come to a head in September.

I hope you're right because that would be 110% better than anything WWE's done in years.

Smiths: Verbaltoxin/Lingu alvenom: Yessir.
oh wow.
that's one hell of a long fuck build
i'm okay with them fucking around with it now a bit more, but kinda just hate DQ endings out the wazoo.
goddamn... October?
Having a months-long series didn't tip you off that Bound For Glory is their big event? Also Dixie has said she wants to cut down on the ppv's, but can't right now.

Slow builds are all well and good, but I'd like to have some wrestling matches with clean finishes, ya know?

My opinions on what I saw. I was at work and sometimes I have to pay more attention to that for whatever reason.
- Missed the opening vid package. Sting as the GM in Hogan's absence was obvious but logical. The opening segment was okay. I'm just burnt out on factions. Perhaps that rant is upcoming... - KO's match was okay. The Hebner stuff is silly. PWTorch put the match at 3:50. I'll use Caldwell's figures. - Gut Check wasn't bad. I like the Joey Ryan stuff. Match went 2:38. - The Aries stuff was good. - The Chavo segment felt long. I really don't care about him or Gunner. I'm waiting for a Hernandez kill-botch. Kid Kash needs to drop the "Kid" part of his name. - Styles and Storm were solid until the Goddamned A/8 run-in. Match time was 10:25 on a no decision. - Didn't see much of Ion/King. 6:05 match time. - I enjoyed Bubba/Kurt. It had the intensity that TNA has been showing. Perfect for BFG. 11:55 - Then the A/8 deal.
The faction thing has been overdone. And the finger points at one man: Eric Bischoff. He has a boner for factions from the Team Challenge Series to the NWO to Fortune to the deal that they were against. He loves his factions. It reads like a bad '80's action movie. The last month or two of TNA has been fun. Good matches, good angles and now more faction bullshit. Give it a fucking rest. I thought the build to October was good. BFG series, Aries as champ, Roooooooo being a dick. Making titles mean something. Christ. Let it breathe. I could see A/8's after Bound for Glory to set an arc through the winter. Too soon for another goddamn faction. I'm happy that some of the boys have some work but TNA seemed like a wrestling show. When I see an A/8's run-in, it's X-Pac heat, imo.
/BTW, about 35 minutes bell to bell //drizunk yay vodak!
Yay. Teams. Professional wrestling is supposed to be more individual. I will give TNA props for rotating talent... No Anderson, Joe or Hardy. I'm assuming Devon is/will be on Xplosion.

I like factions. Done well, they give your characters instant motivation, people to play off of to build their character, and instant heat. I do agree they can be overdone, though, and TNA has way overdone them. Planet Jarrett, Christian Coalition, Angle Alliance, Main Event Mafia, Immortal, now Aces & Eights... time to give that particular crutch a rest, guys. I can't even blame Bischoff much, since it was going on even before he and Hogan came in; it's just TNA in general that really abuses the concept.
Honestly, the reason The Nexus worked as well as it did is because WWE really hadn't had a unified threat like that since the Corporate Ministry (there was that sad nWo revival attempt, but they really didn't do much). It put them in a unique situation and led to all kinds of storyline potential. Same with WCW and the original nWo; it was something brand new, and led to stuff we never saw before. With TNA, it's just old hat.

You make some damn good points, CTC. Maybe some kind of version of Cornette's "7 year rule" can be used in today's product so the factions aren't stumbling over each other. I guess my point was, "Thank Christ the factions are gone from TNA." Then... BOOM A/8's. And then I was disappoint.
I am also of the opinion that overuse of factions is lazy booking.
