I really like the way A&8 has been imploding over the last few months. Once Bully won the title, it stopped being about the group and was just about him.

Right now Bully could get sympathy from a moldy loaf of bread that has shit coming out of it.

Ya'know..
Aces and eights wolfpac had 3 members. Bully has one member. Himself. Why they don't take bully's cut and say fuck you...
Then get A.J. To lead the aces in a takeover of TNA. Bringing TNA back to its roots.
Hire the Ding Dongs and get Toby Keith back on the phone...

A simple "I'm rich so I'm better than you" story line is a lot better, to me anyway, than "screwing you is best for the business-ah"

I've got a few concerns with this, as I do with anything that takes away from what happens in the ring and why it happens. I'm digging Bitch Dixie, and I know it's probably leading to writing Hulk out.
I've said this before, but I wonder if this isn't a nudge from Spike. They did this when they had ECW even though ECW was kind of a lame duck with WWF jumping there years ago. If you read between the lines in some of the interviews, and who knows if it's worked or not, Spike has their finger in TNA creative. The MMA guys were shit, and we all know that. Most wrestling fans don't want to see MMA guys presented as MMA guys and vice versa. It's just bad. It dilutes both products and many MMA guys can't work pro wrestling style.
IMO, the angles about "the company" that were neat in the late '90's have been done to death and usually badly. What popped a number then is different from now. We all know it's a work. The original NWO worked because it was well done and hadn't been seen before. It was bridging kayfabe and reality. And that was cool and edgy then. But you can't put that toothpaste back into the tube, genie in the bottle, etc. That's all done. It happened.
IMO, they should've held off on AA saving Velvet Sky. Let the Randy Savage/Elizabeth gimmick simmer. Such easy heat. And it hasn't been done in a while.
Shit like that. I really have a hard time turning off the booker portion of my brain. It really makes it difficult for me to watch wrestling. Or listening to radio. Or running a bar.
Cornette had the 7 year rule for recycling angles years ago. I'm not a JC disciple, but he had a lot of valid points. It seems to me that the only angles being recycled are those involving the company and the business and that takes away what should be a main part of booking something. Championships, getting to the top. Shit like that. There's always room on the show for grudges. Book things so they seem natural. That's where the drama lies. And that's where wrestling can work. I think it was Bill Watts that asked fans if what was happening is real and they said maybe not. He then asked if those guys in the ring were pissed off at each other and most of the fans said fuck yeah.

Smiths: Lagana does seem to have long-term ideas. Maybe it's the Breaking Bad watching in me now... but I'm watching little things that happen in the "nothing is irrelevant" way. Knux had to overact with the Anderson beatdown when it happened, but even before that he would just look to the left or right while Bully was talking with subtle "not listening to this". I'd like to believe Lagana and them are giving them the little cues of "just do this when he's rambling" or "make this gesture while he punches".
That's not lost on me. The hesitation with Knux and Garrett with Kenny and Wes was great, I'm just really concerned for the company with its cost cutting to the point where there might be 12-18 guys and a handful of girls. If they decide to bring up people from developmental, introducing them can be an uphill battle. You gotta realize, at least as I see it, is they are in the middle of reinventing themselves. I'm rooting for them, but at the same time I really don't have a positive vibe about what's happening in Nashville, especially if Spike has influence in booking. Lagana can only do so much. Unless there's a spot, the guys in the ring should sell what they're involved with as a shoot. That's just "Working 101"
