HERE'S WHERE I SHIT ALL OVER THIS SHOW
The guys who I read because they are pretty fair (and openly rooting for the success of TNA) absolutely fucking HATED the end of this PPV. I had to go watch the video.
this is bad: 1 - Heel Dixie is Worst Dixie. Stephanie McMahon delivers lines better. 2 - Jeff Hardy beating Manik (or anyone under 34) and AJ Styles is Daniel "B not an A" Bryan 3 - Aces & 8's "ZOMG CONTINUITY!!1" no, it's more like "wow this entire story just up and took a turd on us as soon as we turned it into The Hogan Family Show, guess we better acknowledge part of that" 4 - The Divas division in WWE has a better wrestling roster than the TNA Knockouts division and that is unbelievable 5 - Hulk Hogan is the most inept and useless "authority figure" possible right now 6 - Why does Sting still work for this company and why is he wrestling in the main event 7 - Gotta agree with Caldwell (PWTorch) that sticking the money (Dixie) on as a prominent TV character while business is bad is either a sign that they have THE MOST AWESOMEST AMAZING STORY PLANNED or that this company is in a toilet-flush spiral and creative (Bisch, Hogan et al) are desperate to make Dixie happy (which probably is the only way they'll keep getting checks from TNA after this time next month, since Hogan's contract expires in a few weeks IIRC). He called it "Con Artistry 101" and basically is intimating that since Hogan & Bisch know they're in hot water and that they are near the top of the "fucking ridiculous money being spent" list, they then thrust Dixie on-air as a prominent role, and now the storyline idea itself could completely suck but since you're playing to the ego of (basically) a mark, the train keeps a-rollin' for a while.

Claire Fucking Lynch. That's all I need to say re: Dixie Carter's acting ability. You can spin it all you want but it reeks of copycat bullshit. AJ = DBD, Dixie = Billion Dollar Princess, and Sting still main events what would have been a PPV a year ago.
"Jeff Hardy is a main eventer" blah blah blah it's okay when TNA does it but WWE = satan when old guys (especially those who really aren't a big deal right now) go over on young up-and-coming talent.
A&8's - Big fat load of meh. This whole storyline was for what? To make Bully Ray the world champion? Why? Because his contract was running out, or so we could hear him say "Brookie"? Are we supposed to just forget the entire road to Bully being named the president?
AJ/Natalya don't make a division, but neither do Mickie James and ODB. Tessmacher's a valet and almost everyone else has been fired.
Sorry, you fail, please try again.

Or maybe
JUST MAYBE
both shows have decent stories and I just hate TNA's old guys as much as you hate WWE's old guys

I remember when Aces & 8's was this whole mystery and you had masked guys and everyone was like "well no one will take them seriously without their masks"
the original angle died there
then aces & 8's became the "who's the president" thing and Bully Ray turned face and Hogan became an even BIGGER FOCUS of the story than he already was
then Bully screws Hogan
Bully drops the belt I think? didn't he? doesn't really matter since they put it right back on him
Brooke Hogan is finally taken out of the story because oh my god why the fuck is this story happening
Miss Tessmacher, who for a while was one of the people who masturbate to TNA were all over when she was a face wrestler at the top of the KO division turns heel and becomes a valet for Bully Fucking Ray
Now the story is becoming Bully Ray and Brookie The Power Couple, because fuck all you stupid jobbers why bother elevating you?

so let's review champ in his 40's takes one of the few women left in the KO division and turns her into a valet so they can be a power couple
when original storyline was whole bunch of guys who never got pushed, as well as a bunch of young guys nobody's really seen a lot of, are taking things into their own hands
and you think it's all good because continuity.
granted, not all of those young guys wound up being worth a shit. But while Hogans were all over TV the company was cutting costs by cutting FUCKING GREAT TALENT and gutting the roster to the point where the KO division is 3 wrestlers and a valet, and whatever indy women TNA can throw a $200 payday at
It speaks volumes that you go to such great lengths to defend TNA, I think you are just unwilling to accept that both of the national televised wrestling products right now are full of inconsistencies, stupid decisions, old guys continuing to live off their reputation while young guys bust their ass to get already-over-people over more.
It's just with TNA they have less of an excuse. For all the bitching about Jarrett in the main event all the time, fucking four guys have been at the top of almost every TNA PPV card since 2006: Sting, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. You can add Jeff Hardy, too, so that's five.
Three of those guys were damaged fucking goods when they walked into the company and while they've had these great flashes here and there, don't kid yourself - Sting will be remembered for WCW and Angle and Hardy will be remembered for WWF. They weren't used to enhance and elevate the existing roster, they were used to draw money -- and while that's just fine economically, it fucking SUCKS for the long-term drawing viability of a lot of that roster.
Hence why you still have Sting main eventing, Styles main eventing, Hardy main eventing, Hogan involved in many of the top angles in that span. Styles perhaps truly deserves this big angle and time in the spotlight right now, thank goodness he's getting it - again, when his contract was coming due and they all went "oh fuck", methinks - but TBH I don't know where TNA will be in 2 years. I know where WWE will be - pushing John Cena, pushing Triple H as an authority figure, and sort of pushing Punk and Bryan. Same ol' same ol'. WWE can afford it, though; I don't know how much money Dixie can keep pumping into entering-40's and pushing 50's-somethings' pockets. And I know for a fact they can't keep throwing money at Hogan and Bischoff.
Reality is that wrestling on TV still kinda blows all over right now, we're all desperate to find stuff we like about a couple of big messes of shit.

Senile Vince: Reality is that wrestling on TV still kinda blows all over right now, we're all desperate to find stuff we like about a couple of big messes of shit. Oh, look... Corn! Yay. I agree with a lot of your points, btw. As far as the top of the TNA roster, 40-ish isn't the end of the world. But like I said before, with the money they're spending on guys like Hulk, Sting, Angle they could hire someone for creative and some good workers. The MMA guys do nothing. They hurt MMA and TNA. Fuck you, Viacom. I'm a demolition derby driver. I would fail at actual racing. Not apples and oranges, but apples and steak. Mmmmm... steak... I'll defend Hardy since he's cleaned up and can still deliver. Styles is good. Joe looks like a tub, but he's a badass and can still go. I see an upside to Gunner and Magnus. Sorry, but Wes and Garrett can't work their ways out of a wet paper bag. Professional wrestling has always been an easy and relatively cheap form of content for TV. It goes back to TV's earliest days. What were two programs that were featured on local TV in the '50's and '60's? Wrestling and bowling. Easy and cheap. Both could be pulled off with a one or two camera shoot.
