Senile Vince: should I spoil all of you on Doctor Who's finale or should I tell you how the Daft Punk album is The Daft Punk album is pretty awesome dude, IMHO. They promised an album reminiscent of their influences, and they delivered. Don't forget, Thomas and Guy-Man are Barry Manilow and Beach Boy fans. The album reminded me of all the cheesy soft rock songs from the 70s that I love listening to on vinyl.

Senile Vince: the daft punk album:
basically, daft punk-sounding stuff, with heavy kickass slap bass, and a shitload of featured artists.
it's like a "hey, we're ridiculously mainstream now, and it's awesome because we still sound exactly like we always have" album
in other words buy it, I am (they're releasing it in a few hours officially because of the leak, moved the date up by like a week)
if you expect some amazing NEW sound out of this you won't find it. it's like Daft Punk Goes Modern basically. same formula but with fresh bass, and again, a LOT of featured artists I respectfully disagree. I mean it sounds like Daft Punk because it is Daft Punk. But the casual listener who is expecting the whole album to sound like "Get Lucky" is going to be disappointed. And I think this album is lot more low key than Human After All which was almost industrial in its aggressiveness, and Discovery and Homework which were so dancy. This one is much more "soft rock" and disco vibe. I have been listening to a lot of Le Knight Club and Thomas Bangalter's solo work lately and I think this album is not only a departure from Daft Punk but from Thomas and Guy-Man individually.
