The entire overrun could be Taker walking to the ring.

They are really determined to let Taker work as little as possible prior to Wrestlemania. He better do the job. Fuck the streak, he got 20 fucking years going over at that event. Pass the fucking torch already.

Pass the fucking torch already. It's really obnoxious at this point. Sure the guy is a legend and such but it reminds me of the last few years of Dick Clarks Rockin Eve when they just wheeled Dick Clark out there for ratings. Granted Taker can walk and talk but he's far from a perfect bill of health.

I'm willing to bet Dick was the one who demanded to botch the countdown... No way anyone would wheel him out there complete with drool bucket... I also don't believe taker puts punk over. Not happening...

Think about this for a second: All of the stuff they've been hotshotting over the last couple of weeks for Mania could've been stretched out since the Rumble to build for Mania and could've had a decent arc, and even making the 2 PPV's between the Rumble and Mania mean something.
Take the 4-way... It just pops up out of nowhere. Yeah, Sheamus and Show have their history which is nice for the match itself, but outside of Punk's promo last week, what does any of this have to do with facing Undertaker? I would think that Taker's match is right up there with the WWE championship as being the top 2 programs leading into Mania.
It doesn't mean anything. No build to it. Leading up to the biggest show of the year. I might be able to give a pass to Punk/Taker, but for the most part the question of "why are they fighting" gets skipped over. This is what happens when you feel you need to panic and hotshot shit. And while the end result might be awesome, it does a company no good to do it.

I'll happily watch a Punk-Taker match, but that match should happen next year, not now. They really should have put Punk in a Triple Threat with Cena and Rock.

Not happening... Dick owned the show. His being there was his call. As for Taker... The main reason I do not think he'll job is that it's not the main event. I also do not see that WWE has a strong desire to get Punk more over than he is, and his statements about retiring sooner rather than later don't help. If they had a younger guy they saw as the next Hogan, Rock or Austin they would do it. But I don't see them doing it for Punk. They should, because it should be ended and it should be ended by someone who is a good worker with a strong track record and who truly understands and loves the business. The only guy who really fits that bill and is in a position to do it right now is Punk, but that will probably not happen. But it is kind of ridiculous when you have this mythical streak being continued by a guy you weren't even sure had one more match in him and isn't in any condition to build a feud the right way.
