is this supposed to get Maddox over as a face?
And why couldn't Cena come out a minute earlier and save Brad?
and that goddamn camera work is bad enough normally, but it's murder when you're dopey on painkillers.

The only thing missing is HHH coming out and giving all the Shield members Pedigrees.

All that to set up a tag team match.

So basically one-on-one each member of The Shield sucks.

sharktrager: So basically one-on-one each member of The Shield sucks. They might be 1-0 now, but their record is going to drop to Aces and Eights levels soon.

You missed a great match between Punk and Jericho that was handled 100% right by the WWE.

You know what the Rock winning the WWE title is surprisingly similar to, and only slightly less ridiculous than? Yeah, Cena, you had such a rough year in 2012... The level of ridiculousness that a guy should be able to come back after not wrestling for more then twice in 7+ years and have him win your title is certainly debateable. That being said, there really is no comparison to having one of the former headliners of your company (if you told non wrestling people to name WWF guys, The Rock would be one of the first 3 people mentioned and if you asked wrestling fans he'd easily be top 10 and top 5 for most) coming back in great physical shape and hold your title then an actor who just happens to be a fan of wrestling winning it straight up over your other talent and dude looks like a beanpole. It's beyond hyperbolic to compare those two. It's downright silly.

Jericho is a glorified jobber with promo time. A talented glorified jobber, mind you. A very successful and popular glorified jobber. But after this shtick has been done to death he's still a glorified jobber. Plus I still like long hair Jericho. That was a great match where a heel won clean and they respected finishers.

Agreed, Punk's opening promo and his match with Jericho were probably the best two segments on the show. I also liked the Miz TV segment. Everything else was meh. Del Rio's face turn is failing miserably because WWE pretends that we won't remember that Del Rio's supposed to be a Mexican aristocrat, not a working-class hero. Big Show is great, but can only give you so much. Dolph Ziggler was... yeah I don't remember either. The whole ending segment was so bad. That should have been in the spot the Punk-Jericho match was, and Punk-Y2J should have closed the show with Punk looking strong going into a title rematch for a belt we never saw on TV. Not the worst RAW I've seen this year by any stretch, but certainly not a must-watch episode. Hell, there wasn't even a solid hour of must-watch programming out of the three they give us, and if you include commercials we barely got our 42 minutes worth. Very, very meh.

So you are AGAINST the idea of an older wrestler, who only wants to work part-time yet is still good enough to put over the talent you have that will be there full time, putting over said talent? This is a PROBLEM?

I'm still bewildered how they thought using the overrun to both forward the Show-Del Rio feud and build up a six man tag was a good use of the time.
THEY HAVE THREE MOTHERFUCKING HOURS TO DO THIS. But no, we have to have Cena cut a promo, then another promo, go to break, come back, push their stupid app, and then go clear out to 10:15 pm CT to build a fucking tag match.
Oh and I hope we all enjoyed the Shield, because at Elimination Chamber that's pretty much over and done.

Wait. So you are AGAINST the idea of an older wrestler, who only wants to work part-time yet is still good enough to put over the talent you have that will be there full time, putting over said talent? This is a PROBLEM? I'm against the same guy doing it constantly and it means less and less each time he does it. It'll be at the point of a Kane feud. If you go over on Kane you're supposed to be amazing because you beat a "monster". After you slay the monster enough, you begin to wonder "why do people care if someone beats them?" Kane has made a career of : Beast Mode - Meets match - Comedy/Fan Favorite - Break for months - NEW OUTFIT/MASK - Beast Mode - Meets match - etc. You can do it if you do it the right way. If Jericho is truly going to be around for a while, yeah, a big win is due right about now. If not? Fark it, he can lose somemore if it puts over talent. People still pop for him face/heel/win/lose. If the Rock had put over Cena last year, then came back and put over Punk, would you be bitching?

You do realize Jericho's "big win" will end up being over Dolph.

I had a longer, rantier post written but I found a way to nuke it. Sometimes I find new ways to fuck shit up. Anyways, here's Punk/Y2J from Raw, complete with the stuff during break.Good match. 15 minutes don't do these guys justice. My only bitch, really, is that the babyface came out first. I also get a kick out of drinking and smoking during a Punk match. Almost as much fun as drinking and smoking in the sponsor's bar while he and Ian Rotten talked over chicken tenders.
