I think that's the key, myself. It's the constant rewrites and the schizophrenic changes in direction that are really killing WWE.

Cuvis the Conqueror: I think that's the key, myself. It's the constant rewrites and the schizophrenic changes in direction that are really killing WWE. Well, that and the "too many cooks" gimmick, putting gimmicks on guys that they have to work into and that wrestling can't be entertainment as opposed to it's gotta be entertainment with wrestling. The shorts are inside out. Nobody cares anymore. I understand that WWE is a content provider, as is also TNA and ROH. WWE right now is reminding me of why I walked away from them 20 years ago. It's the circus again. You'll see some decent shit on a PPV. They're pushing the same dozen guys. People are fatigued by them but they won't add anyone to the mix. You have the same 10-12 guys on TV for the last year. They're afraid the quarter hours might tank with a new guy so they trot out the same guys week in and week out. It's kinda like spinning records on a music station that plays current music. Same shit is safe. You spin a new (unfamiliar) record and unless it's a bona fide hit, it doesn't mean anything. So you play it to the point to where it becomes familiar. Problem is, WWE has no competition. The talent is stale. They coulda had Punk/DB carry the summer, but angle with AJ. Or was that last year? Too many cooks... /carny drunk

Smiths: Cuvis the Conqueror : I loved this show. This is the first raw in weeks that I genuinely enjoyed. Lots of wrestling, most of it decent, and the comedy was actually funny for once. Sure, it was filler, but it was entertaining filler. WWE when it is not selling anything and just putting on a show (like this ep) is enjoyable. Nothing that happened tonight will matter remotely... it was just a "put on and enjoy" show apparently. Surprise, WWE works in that sense. When they try to go THIS IS FOR OUR STORIES WE ARE CONTINUITY WORSHIPPERS WHEN IT MATTERS you wanna murder them. makes no fuck sense. then again it usually means Vince is hands-off. I've been saying it for months: WWE works when Creative gets out of the way. These guys can wrestle. It may not be enough work rate for the neckbeards, but they entertain and tell good stories. I just wish Vince would fucking see that, and stop fucking with his own talent.
