Verbaltoxin/Lingualvenom: Damn, Vince just fucking hates us, doesn't he? This was the first ppv in forever that had absolutely nothing to do with HHH or Cena in forever, so at least it has that going for it.

DougieAXP: what's happening now?! Ryback chased Punk up the cage, hit his finisher, then flapped his arms around like a bird to Feed Me More chants.

Vince climbed on the cell and jacked off on Ryback.

So Punk won but Ryback got the fucking coup de gras?

Ryback didn't do shit outside his usual power move routine. He didn't lost heat with the finish, but beating up Punk didn't get any back. He went from their flash in the pan, to just another WWE guy on the roster.

DougieAXP: So Punk won but Ryback got the fucking coup de gras? Basically, yes. Roidberg had Punk up for his finish, ref ballshots Roidberg and does a fast 3 with Punk covering. And then the post match shenanigans.

Overall, the PPV was kinda Meh. As it should be. It's not one of the big 4. And Christ, we have three weeks to SS. I liked Matt Striker doing interviews in the ring. Show/Sheamus was better than it could ever be. They did 20 minutes and told a story. Good match. I expected an abortion.
Punk/Ryback? I pretty much figured it would be a fuck finish, but not like that. The ref, Brad Maddox is a worker coming up from developmental. I thought it was Charles Robinson with new hair dye. He moves around the ring like a pro. Good job for Brad for looking and working like a ref.
That was the cheapest of finishes they coulda done. The ballshot was shit. The heel ref gimmick sucks all forms of ass. Have Punk give him every finish. Roidberg is that fucking strong. He kicks out. Punk is frustrated. Let's get blown up. Chairshot outside. Ryback sells. Gets a hope spot. Punk comes back. Boom boom boom, Punk hits a cheap GTS and that's the match. There's your quick WWE finish.

Survivor Series in 3 weeks. Who will they have as the teams in the token traditional survivor series match? Three Man Band?

Source: The Wrestling Observer
Word is that the finish involving referee Brad Maddox helping CM Punk retain the WWE Title at Hell in a Cell was decided at the very last minute by Vince McMahon. WWE had gone through several options on the match finish during the week, which at times led to confusion.
Maddox wasn't used on RAW last night, with the explanation being that he is getting medical attention after Ryback beat him severely after the PPV match. Maddox is expected to be back for next week's RAW from England.
Seriously, this was the best idea Vince could have come up with? Whatever happened to the classics - like Heyman passing Punk a foreign object, allowing Punk to knock Ryberg the Hell out and retain the belt without forcing a clean loss on Ryberg?

Wouldn't have worked for 2 reasons: 1) HIAC is no DQ and there are weapons under the ring already 2) They'd already done weapons and Ryberg survived. Now they could have gone with the ether on the hand wraps and then an Anaconda Vise and protected the invincible monster. They also could have had someone hiding under the ring who hit him with something when he wasn't looking, like maybe that fire extinguisher, hurting him just long enough for a pin, but that requires Hyman have a stable and his other client is off making sandwiches. They painted themselves in a corner. They want him invincible but need him to lose and then put him in the only kind of match where there isn't a good way to pin a loss on him.

Maddox with the nutshot is Ryback's taser. Either way he's not this undefeatable monster. He's just another big dude who does power moves. He can still be a one-man Road Warrior kind of guy, but the Goldberg comparisons can cease.

First he was appearing on RAW, then he's "at WWE HQ in a meeting" down the rabbit hole he goes. sad thing is Triple H doesn't want any "new talent" debuting on RAW unless a "long term story is written for them". If only that was the opinion for guys already on tv.

Caught the PPV earlier this week. Not great at all, pretty much stopped caring after the tag title match and so did the crowd for the most part. I think this gif I saw on Botchamania sums up the PPV (and the WWE product in general lately). Giving someone the finger on a PPV... VINTAGE ORTON!
