the fact they are hyping it up actively (and really didn't for the other 'appreciation nights') makes me feel it's a fucking angle in waiting.
and JR will suck that corporate dick like he has been doing within the past year because he's settled into his role of "agree with what they do because i like getting a check".
Considering his job consists of tweeting, "scouting" from his couch in Norman, OK and doing commentary mainly when his friend has a heart attack, I'd say it's a sweet gig if you can get it.

They could never find anything for Billy Gunn after the Smoking Guns. Same for Brian James after Jarrett left. So they put them in another tag team. It happens. I'd rather Sandow and Rhodes pal around in Triple H's tag revival he's somehow snuck behind Vince's back, than see them get jobber entrances and lose to Randy Orton for no reason.

I hate how they keep calling them "Team Rhodes Scholars" instead of just the "Rhodes Scholars", it just makes it sound like some glittery, Twilight shit.
It kind of makes sense to do with Kane and Bryan because of their storyline of having to work together as a team, but it's just dumb with Cody and Sandow.

It just seems so weird that tag teams died out like they did in WWE, when tags were Vince's favorite way to have a hot midcard match, and scope out who the next "it" guy was going to be. Edge and Shawn Michaels would've never found their spots if they hadn't gone through a tag team first.

Going off topic a bit.
If you'll do some googling, you'll find that many of these guys on WWE's roster are in their 30s. There are lot of dudes who need to make it now, or they are pretty much done. Yet it's still the John Cena Show Plus His Pals, Randy and Sheamus. WWE was pretty myopic when Hogan was around, but they at least padded out the midcard so they could draw some money when Hogan wasn't on the card.
